This week’s lockdown-mix is another one from the archives. 15 months on from my first ever mix, this is again almost all vinyl (one track from CD, I had a shitty Denon-copy to use), but now done at home, I’d gotten two Technics-decks at this point. Was pleasantly surprised how well the music in this has aged, last week’s was VERY 2001 for the most part. I also doubt I could let two tracks play that long on top of each other on vinyl these days. Beatmixing was such a pride-thing back then.

This week’s lockdown mix comes from the archives. This is me playing the official afterparty for John Digweed’s 4th visit to Finland, in November 2011. I stayed up all night at the main party, and still played the afterparty, and you can’t notice it from the playing. Could not do that today, 9 years later.

Homegrove nice. Was the big man in attendance?
mono-stereo not this time. He came to eat kebab with his manager back stage the year before. He played in Helsinki for the same promoter three years in a row from 2010 onwards on the latter half of the year and I played the afterparty at all three.
Along_the_Wire yeah, might be my best this year of posting long mixes. The one from May I think is also pretty good. Also still in all my platforms.

This week’s lockdown-mix is another one afterhours-mix from the archives. Had the pleasure of playing a couple of times in now long gone Redrum in Helsinki. It was the first club in Finland to have Function One-sound, so it was always a treat.
This one has a lot of really big tunes from 2010, and is sure to bring memories if you were of clubbing age ten years ago.
King Unique played the main party, and was invited to the afterparty. I guess he was really tired, but too polite to say no, because once we got there he found some couches in Redrum and promtly fell asleep. Don’t blame him, I was the first to play.
