I’m hoping that some Laurent Garnier, tickets come up on resale.
Beta Band - Roundhouse in October
Just back from Sasha Young Marco gig. Last hour was full of classics, Humate bedrock remix, hidden sun of Venus, ray of light remix, delirium - silence breaks remix, underworld - 2 months off.
I’m just on my train ride home now. I actually quite enjoyed it.
Any cop lads?
I wasn’t expecting much but it was quite good. Tottenham is a right fucking shit hole. Like apyssjw said they played a few classics near the end.
I managed to bag a Laurent Garnier ticket, so roll on next weekend.

Yep!
Manski nice. Love Steve Mason’s solo stuff over the last few years.
Agreed, seen him a couple of times over the last few years but never managed to see the band. Should be decent.
Not been back to the Roundhouse since the Sasha Refracted gig yonks back!

Tozzi and co somewhere in Canning Town, city of thieves . Dunno if I’ll go - although it looks ilke it goes on until 11 am so perhaps pop over for breakfast and catch the last few hours. old innit.
It’s that bad, there’s a pub in an old public toilet.
apyssjw Enjoy some (possibly too many vids) from the back. Apologies to anyone in them - was just recording while dancing so not pointing at anything in particular (apart from the one at the end).

That mid nighties trance sound was my entry point and it’s the sound I return to the most, so was great to hear some of those tracks at the right speed! 3.1 Bedrock mix is an absolute favourite of mine. The Ambient mix (or just intro) was the intro for the set, with it reappearing towards the end. Hidden Sun is of course still banging.
That actually seemed surprisingly decent. Sasha managing to well exceed 130 bpm again.

You mean ‘3.2’ ; ‘3.1’ is another track which didn’t have any Bedrock mixes.
apyssjw ray of light remix
No idea what the fuck this was doing in there though?! Horrific.
Thumbs up for Sasha going b2b with someone that plays fairly uptempo, rather than Franky fucking Wah.
Sounds like a right old cheese fest that Sasha and Young Marco night.
I would be surprised if 80% of the people had even heard them tracks before, the Humate track and Hidden Sun tracks are nearly 30 years old. The other tracks they played were reworks of the originals. I mostly find that playing old tracks in sets rarely works, Sasha, ended his 2001 Creamfields set with Slacker - Scared and it felt like I was the only one that recognised it, it wasn’t much better when Digweed, played it at Fabric a few years back. I’ve heard, tracks like Liquid Cool, Zoe etc played years later and they rarely get a big response. Digweed played Tomaz vs. Filterheadz - Sunshine in Belfast a few years ago and it just sounded out of place. James Zabiela, seems to be better at dropping old tracks and pulling it off.
Dry-Tinder I do wonder whether that’s right. How many new fans have Sasha and Digweed picked up in the past few years. Not so many I dare say. It’s not like it looks like a crowd of clubbing ingenues. Those are well known tracks to any casual Sasha fan.
They have picked up a few, most of the people that I was with were under 35. I think if you call recall a track because you heard it when it was released it’s resonates with you more and evokes memories If you became a fan in the last 20 years, you probably listened to it a few times, thought that it was great and moved on to the next one, it certainly wouldn’t resonate in the same way than with someone that played it at loads of after parties in the 90s. Digweed finished a set a few years ago with Paul Rutherford - Get Real and I think that I was the only person that recognised it.
I was at an Old School night (Altern 8) 2 weeks ago, which was full of people over 50 and Perfect Motion and For Whatt You Dream of got dropped and the place went nuts.
Dry-Tinder Now that is an oldie Paul Rutherford - Get Real… Produced by ABC’s Martin Fry.
Play a load of youngsters Trisco’s Musak and the tops will be off quicker than you can say ‘peak time POWER prog.’
Avalon Emerson among others joining, am looking forward to this -
John Talabot at the old man CIU social club place in North Shields in August. Bonkers.
Make sure you keep us updated chief!
I can’t make but Luke Una is playing at Phonox next month -
The Doves last night were absolutely magnificent - did a tremendous version of Space Face - only seen them do that a couple of times. I was absolutely cunted.
