What events/gigs have you bought tickets for?

gcw

Flying to Glasgow on Sunday for a Skyline event - Anthony Pappa, Jamie Stevens and Pole Folder on the roof of a Radisson hotel. Had an email this week to say special guest ‘Super progressive’ has been added to the roster.

It’s his night!

gcw heard great things about those events, enjoy

IndustryStandard

Interested to hear about those Skyline events. How popular they are / attendance etc. Noticed the tickets are £30, which is a bit lumpy for a regional event. The costs must be pretty high to secure 3 name DJs with transport up to Glasgow (presume none live local) and accomodation ( even with the Radisson discount) . Venue and setup looks nice, with production and PA/monitoring pretty upscale.

….unless The Radisson eats some of the costs as part of their ents budget. Wouldn’t mind a beano up there to check one out.

Dry-Tinder

I feel a little cheated. The cunts added someone else to the lineup, so Sasha & Digweed are only doing 3 hours.

gcw

IndustryStandard my ticket was £160 and that includes 2 x tickets to the event, a twin room at the hotel and 2 x breakfasts. So £80 per person for a day event, a bed for the night and some food in the morning - didnt think that was bad, and I have always wanted to see Pappa live

The first time that I went, the party started at 2, but they wouldn’t let us check in until 4. Early check in was another £80, I had to drag my case around for two hours. Hopefully they have sorted that now.

alistair

gcw that sounds great, have fun.

Dan

erik Wrong plaice.

IndustryStandard

gcw ….seems like if you make a weekender of it you get a better deal. Makes me think the hotel must me helping out/subsidizing to a degree. A ticket off the bat on the usual sites is close to £30.

@Dry-Tinder what was the actual event like when you went? Busy? Locals or people going up for a weekender?

apyssjw

Dry-Tinder I saw that. Should still be great fun. Be grateful that they turn up at all! (we went last year for the date at Space Eden which was cancelled the day before…).

IndustryStandard

Dry-Tinder …never heard of either of those now in the S&D room. “House set”? Shapeshifters before power prog?

alistair

IndustryStandard I would love to see Lola’s theme dropped just before they came on. Funny

gcw

Dry-Tinder interesting! I am flying up at 7am so will be in Glasgow for 8.30, was hoping I could get some kip before hand but sounds like thats a no-no! Looks like its a 10am Wetherspoons pint and a kip then

erik

IndustryStandard Elio Riso had a track on one of Digweed’s annual Bedrock comps

Juliet Fox is ok

Old-Dutch

Skyline is Andy Newland and Graham Chalmers.

They hosted a stage on the Sunday at Balance in Croatia the other week where I spent the whole day.

Haven’t made it up to Glasgow yet but everyone I know who goes up says it’s absolutely incredible.

That Danny Howells clip.I posted was from the Skyline stage

Dry-Tinder

IndustryStandard

A good mix of both. The 3 events that I did were brilliant. The guy that promotes the events is the hotel manager

Old-Dutch

Yeah - that’s Graham

That’s exactly what I did the first time. There’s not much to do in Glasgow on a Sunday morning. I had lunch here before going to the hotel here

IndustryStandard

Me neither. The flyer is a bit confusing, it says listed by running order. The way that would interpret that is Sasha and Digweed are playing first, not last.

Old-Dutch any relation to Judith?
