I get the concept of playing a more laid back style, but I find the fact that it’s been packaged up and marketed as “LUZoSCURA” ™ a bit naff to be honest.
The name itself is daft, and the whole “ My New Sound ™ ” could be considered a bit self indulgent. I’m a massive fan of when Sasha mixes breaks and four/four stuff up in his sets, especially the type of stuff he used to play in Fabric, but I reckon he’d of been better off just dropping this mix without all the fanfare. “Here’s a mid tempo breaks mix, enjoy”
Also this resurgence of breaks in the scene in general has more than a whiff of emperor’s new clothes to me. I find Bicep and the like fundamentally boring. I’m a big fan of breaks, but this kind of plodding prog with a break beat ain’t doing it for me.
