alistair Were they? The 2 breaks sets had near identical tracklists and the other one sounded months out of date.

SM001 there were a few tracks he played twice. So what? This bookish obsession with playing new all the time is bullshit. Tony Humphries and Knuckles had certain tracks they would play week in week out for months on end and the crowd responded. Harvey who is unquestionably a great dj barely plays any new tracks

If Sasha wants to spend time with the family etc that’s his business. All i’m saying is his mixes during Covid has been underwhelming. His monthly podcast might as well be ‘whenever I get around to it’ podcast. He also promised regular ‘Detat’ releases on his Bandcamp back in April, there’s been only 2 of those.

alistair During their era / heyday (2 decades ago?) it was a completely different world with every set not being recorded or broadcast live and and passed around the internet or ID’ed by obsessive types in seconds. You could get away with playing tunes for longer. It’s just not the same world these days.

Haven’t really payed attention to LNOE-podcast since the Fabric-mix so well enjoyed this one, as I hadn’t heard every track 11 times.

I perceive Sasha to be the type of person that will get around to it when he has time. John the fella that says he will do it and own up to deadline misses or overachieve the promise.

Definitely a ’will get around to it when I’ve got the time’ thing going on here:

strummer Trying to stay relevant. We know your 50 odd. LOL

Wally Sasha could never put out the weekly Bunker sessions that John does. Few have that sense of enthusiasm. Likewise, John doesn’t have it in him to put concerts on in the same vein as Sasha’s scene delete ones which were sensational. Doesn’t have the musical chops.

        Really enjoying this.

Sasha giving Jon Gurd’s fab album on Anjunadeep plenty of support. No less than three tracks

Really enjoyed the BM mix. Feels like he’s playing his own sound, rather than knocking out stadium prog by numbers for South American teens. Reminds me of NE2.

elrobertos agreed. And just like all previous Sasha incarnations in his pomp there’s nobody else putting together mixes like this.

And before anyone pops up with “have you listened to any mixes by DJ Kamal Chocolate Fingers lately”? No I haven’t.

Not so sure I agree with Anthony Pappa that he was working the mixer that hard. More like he was playing his own edits of certain tracks? Pretty convinced that mix into Flume at the end was an edit of his. If anyone’s got a Digital of the Ludwig AF I be most grateful 👍
