Still have a union, ’though. The Ringer staff doesn’t seem to understand that having a union doesn’t mean you get whatever it is that you want. It’s simply a form off collective negotiation. As with anything, it has its benefits and it has its costs. What, did they think taking an adversarial approach to management wasn’t going to be met in-kind? Come on.
Their union is also little more than ceremonial. It’s a farce. They have no collective power because their labor doesn’t matter. Penning short-form essays about Mac Jones and The Bachelor…that’s what they’re bringing to the table. I mean, really.
Not that I care either way. Bill Simmons means nothing to me.
