  • Some stuff happening this Summer

Alright guys, we’ve got some news I’ve wanted to share for a while, perhaps some of you will be up for this and organising this was why I didn’t stream on Sunday.

I’m flying back a couple of times to run these new events in my hometown Newcastle upon Tyne.

I was running this startup night with some friends before we moved to Cyprus and we did so on the basis I would be back every few months to keep these up, but they actually started as a house party that grew over the last few years thanks to a deaf neighbour and some luck.

We’ve always been under 200 people but have now moved the event to a slightly bigger, still intimate club with Funktion One sound and run the events during the day because nothing good happens at 5am.

This formula works for us, we’ve got more of a 30s to 50s age demographic with some '‘younger ones’ coming through now but we are only 5 events under our belt and we always sell out.

I’d love it if some of you wanted to join in - if you’re near a train line, this is right beside Newcastle Central Station so no faffing with travel.

There are two events, one in June and one in August. It’s a bit of a big deal for us, we’re really excited.

Regarding safety, we are following all official guidelines for clubs reopening. June 21st is the current date for all legal limits on social contact being removed. We are working towards there being no restrictions right now, but will make any necessary adjustments where required. For example, speculatively it is possible you will need to turn up with a very recent test, or proof of vaccine 1, so that everybody inside can relax and enjoy themselves. We will do our best to have a brilliant day and get everyone together how it should be, and it’ll be nice to meet you if you can make it 🙂

I used to chat to Paul a bit when I bought my vinyl where he worked…Tempest in Birmingham, nice lad.

    Nass. Looks great and I d definitely be up for some kind of meet. Fond of Newcastle and can drop daughter with her grandparents 😁

    Only prob is will be at least 5 months before I get any kind of all clear for this kind of thing.

    Will you likely be running these for a while? If so a meet with some board clowns back end of the year would be pretty cool!

      Phil-McRackin That’s cool mate. Some of our team have met him and said the same but I’m yet to meet.

      Mad_Cyril typically we will run these every 8 weeks. When we run normally, our ethos is to announce the next event at the current event, so there will always be something happening.

      We really enjoy running it and having a 2 month lead time means adults with busy diaries can make arrangements and come.

      At the moment I keep forgetting the music on good speakers element and it’s just going to be nice to have likeminded social interaction!

      PS. "“Soap” in August is actually my other half Sophie. She doesn’t pursue a DJ career and runs the events with us. She’s annoyingly good given it takes me weeks of prep to do what she pulls off in less than a week, she actually has a gift. 😅
