Unbroken1 Yes, I agree, very hit and miss the few times I’ve seen him.

But in the days when dance music ruled Radio 1, there was Tong and Judge Jules Friday night and then Dave Pearce followed by Rampling Saturday night and I always enjoyed Rampling’s show the most if I was staying in.

(actually I did listen quite a bit because GodsKitchen was on Fridays and it was usually a chilled Saturday after that)

I seem to remember Essential Selection 18:00-21:00 (“the official start to the weekend”), followed by Rampling’s Love Groove Dance Party 21:00-23:00.

Saturday was Judge Jules 17:00-19:00 followed by forum favourite Seb Fontaine 19:00-21:00.

That would’ve been early 2000s.

Attended one of them on the terrace at Pacha Ibiza when Dina Carroll guested.

I also has supper with Jean-Paul Gaultier, Dina, Blocko and Peasy and Donna Air that same weekend at El Divino.

They put him on a few Essential mixes and the difference between him Sasha in the mixing was massive. Sounded like one of us having a go. LOL

Scene hopped all over the place and kinda lost his way with all that Goa dross. I went Glitterati at the Cross a few times. He was even playing it there until he slipped back into the ‘tried and tested’ US PUMPING HOUSE.

Amps 50% of them? Despite Traktor & mixed in key they still play a load of utter bilge to 50 odds.

Dan Yeah, the sync button has been a bit of a blessing for some, so has digital music over vinyl pressed at differing qualities and volumes, but there are plenty out there who are still willing to clash a key and crash a vocal.

The key thing is amazing to me, regularly here mixes from producers with key clashes… how as a producer do they not recoil in horror and either pitch shift it or choose another track? It must sound utterly abhorrent to them as it does to me.

Fanny Dumpling is proper bat shit. Remember a few years ago his army/para and UK Soul boy days were being called out as being a rather “racist” period for him. Then all those Shoom revival parties around the anniversary of the summer of love. I can see him joining forces with the flat earthers using his fluro hippy shit as an excuse. No mind control maaan…..

He must have made a mint back in the day but, like many, spunked it all up hence he’s still on the legacy house circuit. Never produced much either. A few remixes here and there he probably just sat in on and did a crossword.

Still loved his "“Euro Mix”" at 5.30pm coming back from the footy on Kiss every Saturday….. 20 mins and mayhem during prime time radio. Oh the 90s………lol
