I nearly barfed on Garnier at Cielo tbf

zackster i’d add to that that he may not even have a career if it wasn’t for the tuck rule. they lose that game, drew bledsoe starts week one 2002. plus they cheated constantly and the nfl gave them every call for almost 20 years. giant fucking * beside his entire career.

All Madden is some wonderful watch and trip down memory Lane.

Lol clearly. You summed up his career as a fluke!

luck followed by copious amounts of cheating.

“they shouldn’t be allowed to hit me, i’m the quarterback” fucking l o l

that quote is all you need to know.

Not arguing the cheating. Cheated their way to beating the Eagles. That was the season to deal with the entire franchise but Roger completely bungled it.

just like when he burned the spygate evidence. i may almost hate goodall as much as brady.

on a side note, i’m pretty jacked that it looks like the raiders are hiring mcdaniels. they may have just made my decision to quit the nfl a lot easier. guy has been caught illegally taping with two different teams now and somehow it’s not a problem and mark davis wants him as our coach.

Local rumblings that the Eagles are going after Russ. Great time to climb aboard!

my problem is that’s it’s turned into professional wrestling and the rules have made the game a shadow of what it once was. even 15 years ago, the product on the field was significantly better.

if they won’t even make an attempt to correct the officiating, i don’t see how it’s not done intentionally to fix games and point shave. there’s too much money involved for it not to be done better, unless there’s a reason for it.

Other than the rules protecting receivers, I don’t think the product has changed that much. Yeah, you can’t just level the quarterback for no reason anymore, but what’s the problem with that?

jonattonyeah off the top of my head: the rules are all slanted toward the offense (can’t touch a qb or receiver, tackling is random as are the penalties), i don’t know what a catch is, i don’t know what holding is, there is zero consistency from one play to another (forget between games, crews, or week to week). how can tennis tell if a ball touched a line at 100 mph, but the nfl doesn’t have a goal line camera? the refs can’t spot a ball with any degree of accuracy, don’t know half the rules themselves, have little training, zero accountability, the replay system is behind a black curtain and they get it wrong at least as often as they get it right.

add to that that the raiders have led the league in penalties for 500 years, which is statistically impossible (not just penalties called, but the timing and their impacts — which has been analyzed and the results are impossible without continued and massive league bias). look at the inadvertent whistle in the bengals game, the rule is clear, but they allow the play to stand. it happens every week to different degrees and i think i’m just burnt out on the whole thing.

Fair points. The catch rule is fucking ridiculous and there’s holding on every play. Wish they’d just get rid of replay. What’s called on the field is how it is. Mistakes happen, whatever. I guess for me it’s like with basketball. The defensive dude swipes at the ball and knocks it out, but at the last microsecond it touches the offensive player’s pinky. Who fucking cares.. The spirit of the game says it’s offensive team’s ball. Same with a catch. If it seems like one and the receiver made a great play, good enough for me.

As for the Raiders, they might fair better if they weren’t so antagonistic. The Davis’ family has gone after the NFL at any and every opportunity. They love their stupid “bad ass” image like they’re all in the Hell’s Angels. The Pistons in the late ’80’s decided to lean all the way into being massive assholes and were officiated accordingly. I am pretty damn sure the NFL did not want a team in Vegas but the Raiders said fuck it we do what we want. Yes, it had to be approved, and nobody would speak publically out against it, but I am damn close to certain the league was not happy about it. Sadly, the players are saddled with that baggage.

i have no doubt that’s why it is the way it is. with that said, al’s been dead for over a decade and the nfl either wants a fair game or they don’t. and clearly they don’t.

the league absolutely wanted a team in vegas, but it shouldn’t have been the raiders. the raiders should have been the first team in LA, there will always be more raiders fans there that all the other teams combined. st. louis had a stadium deal on the table and so did san diego. that whole thing was another fuck you from the nfl to the raiders. it’s widely known that old bitch jerry jones in dallas orchestrated the campaign against the raiders in LA and mark davis had to bend over to get the move to vegas approved. we gave up several “home” games to play in mexico/london as part of the cost of the move, as an example.

One of my favorite aspects of the NFL is the way owners and their spawn become feudal lords over the fan base. It’s fun!
