Along_the_Wire alistair Are Sweden managed by Sam Alladyce? Getting a point against far superior opposition away from home? Could be.
303abuser alistair yeah, he was poor at best. i think if england can press a bit, they may actually do well. yesterday was a bit foggy with a 7 am start here, but they looked strong early, way more athletic than past teams.
Along_the_Wire alistair they had three straight forward chances to score themselves. Do you think they’ll give a fuck about being awful to watch after getting a draw against Spain? LOL
alistair Along_the_Wire probably not, but why would I care what the Swedes think. If they get off on that, good luck to them
Along_the_Wire I don’t think you’re really understanding the concept of football. It’s a results business.
Dan mono-stereo I can’t stand Sam Matterface…there can be an amazing piece of play and he’s waffling on about something that has nothing to do with the match. Twat.
baggers44 Dan Agreed. They are obsessed by narrative rather than saying what is happening on the pitch - or rather how what is happening fits into a pre determined narrative - good or bad. I still miss Brian Moore.
Dan baggers44 Seem to remember watching Juninho flick a pass over his head (like a donkey kick) in the cup final and John Motson was going on about the condition of the pitch. Tool.
-si- Pub on friday to watch the england scotland game. I did read the fans are singing It’s Coming Home “ironically”, which isn’t the most convincing argument i’ve ever read. Tournament feels like it’s yet to take off. Haven’t watched a load of games though.
-si- France germany later should be decent enough. I think i am scared to watch a load of matches as the urge to open school night beers would be too much. I am still attempting to cling to fri and sat only for drinking.
