  • Sasha / Digweed at The Brooklyn Mirage.......

I thought about going…my friend Kim really wanted to, but…there’s a festival starting here in San Diego the following day and I’d rather go to that. I can’t do both, so…festival it is. $230 for the whole weekend (after fees).

Here’s the lineup so far:

That festival seems a bit better value than dancing in a glorified parking lot with a few fake trees thrown in , everyone packed in like sardines passing round the Delta variant.

Think I need something with a bit more open space for my first venture back into clubland.

Along_the_Wire 50 mids just to get into a venue? Think thats pretty steep, but maybe im being a tight wad/not used to what prices were pre covid

IndustryStandard It is! I went last year before COVID shut things down.

It’s in downtown San Diego. It’s almost always sunny here at that time of the year, never too hot, right on the bay….can’t beat it really 🙂

Edit: Getting back into the swing of things at a beach club this weekend with Lee B (cue the groans from the board 😆), which has mostly outdoor space.

Kells77 palms and city steps look pretty good, well over 50% of acts worth seeing.

      Taking your roller-skates?

Good chance I go. Still worried about delta or I’d be 100% in. Tells how desperate I am to go clubbing that I’d see these low energy fossils.

Mad_Cyril You know it! Ready to show them off to Carl Craig since he’ll be there! 🛼

zackster I’d see these low energy fossils.

Lol, you are skating on thin grass as a friend once said!

          11 days later

Not worried, vaccinated and ready to go for sequential S&D gigs. Brooklyn then onto Denver.

UPDATE: Spectacular NA visit for the two lads. Looking forward to catching Sasha this upcoming week in Dallas. As some of you may have already heard, the Club Space set was recorded (first hour filmed and last four recorded by microphone DL 320: https://we.tl/t-Z7OXa3TYN0). It is currently sitting on SoundCloud and the video has been purged from YT for copyright reasons. I thought the mirage involved a lot of bass so to fill the open-air venue. John selected a number of tribal tracks and Sasha seemed to play his share with the usual stage exits which was indicative of who’s track was which. Highlights were Play with the Voice [Bedrock Mix], Inner Tension and Fine Day (James Holden Remix) to close the night. Denver was in a class of its own as the bar was set high by Tara Brooks and the club really held what I would compare to a 90s style buzz. Electronica scene is more impressive than I originally thought for Colorado. John finished with Wink’s Higher State of Consciousness (Tweekin Acid Funk) which blew away whomever was left standing. Briggs Street by Quenum was a track that Sasha seemed to favor all throughout the tour and it delivered all three times used (cannot speak for CRSSD). Humble brag, shared a flight from Brooklyn to Denver with the two. Our group did as we could to avoid scaring off their entourage at Baggage Claim (Sasha sat coach and John in front class). Excited to have these evenings back and wish you all to enjoy the clubs as they re-open.
