There are apparently some steps forwarding tackling this issue.

Lucchino, President, Co-founder and CEO of Frequency."
The trial was only open for US citizens in America but they stated if the early results are promising (which as we see here, they are) they will apply for fast track status with the FDA
Potentially we can be looking at a drug that reverses noise induced hearing loss available in literally 3-5 years.
