Along_the_Wire The old Geoff Chambers?

I thought being a wine connoisseur you’d be all over it.

It’s all I drink nowadays to be honest.

BlainSA mainly Riservas and Alta Rioja is my favourite. Baron De Ley Riserva is always excellent and I drink that at home a fair amount

The reason a few of us are bang into the Geoff Chambers is that it’s horrifically underpriced in the Chinese market.

A mate of mine buys up bottles from a dealer and we take them to restaurants, pay corkage, and get sloshed on the good stuff.

The Sinos chase after names they recognise, that they think bring them kudos. It’s all very superficial. So you will go to a shitty bar and bizarrely find Chivas Regal at 80rmb a pour and Dalwhinnie or a 12-year old Glenfiddich at 55rmb. Simply because everyone wants to be seen drinking Chivas, or in the case of wine, Chateau Lafite (usually fake).

bosstrabs not knocking it Dave, just have other preferences. Do like a good Bordeaux when it comes to French wine. I think a lot of French wine is badly over-rated and like you say, stupidly priced regardless of where you are

bosstrabs Treading the racist line here… is this jus a thing in nearly all asian society? All about how you are seen? As in more so than western culture?

Amps I won’t derail Grant’s birthday thread, I just caught myself.

But the short answer is ‘yes’. That’s why they all support Man United, Liverpool and Chelsea.

No cunt has enough imagination to think “It would actually be really cool to follow Coventry City or Wrexham” (as at least Yanks may do).

Coventry, the Detroit of the West Midlands.

        6 days later

Nick Muir has got a gig in Buenos Aires now, the bugger - can’t blame him, I suppose.

Damo, we should talk about timelines, you’re the headliner! You may have to follow an utterly brilliant classics set from me mind…

Happy to step in if you need another warm up dj

How did you manage to get Nick Muir in the first place Grant?

Is it because, both being 85 years old, you move in the same bridge and dominoes circles?
