Picked up a bottle of 18 year old Tomatin when I was up in Inverness recently which I’m saving for Christmas.

Not sure why, but I tend to go batshit for Pinot Noir over Christmas. Some from New Zealand, some from the US, and a few from Burgundy to rinse my wallet clean. Oh, and I always treat myself to a serious bottle of Condrieu that I keep to myself while I’m cooking on Christmas Day.

Beer-wise, I’ll put an order in at my local craft brewery - Unbarred. Love their various IPA offerings, ranging all the way from a manageable 4.7% to a knee-trembler they do at 11% odd.

My favourite gin distillery have recently started making a citrus gin which is fucking lovely, so will make sure we’ve got a bottle of that in.

Decent bottle of Bourbon and some spiced rum, and we should be in good shape. Oh - and I tend to keep a vat of mulled wine going over the Xmas break for chilly afternoons when I should be working.

And of course a decent supply of Boutros to keep us going…

I hope my taste comes back. I’ve got a couple of bottles of fantastic Tuscan reds, case of Rioja Alta Reserva (mix of 2012 and 2015), case of Chianti Classico (2016). Will be getting the usual selection of IPAs and Henry Westons Vintage.

Got all the cocktail stuff for Swizzels and Pornstar Martinis and a variety of gins for guests and a bottle of Hennessy XO for me.

To top it all off, I have the untouched stash I was using for this weekend laying in wait.

Four Roses bourbon for the old fashioned, a few bottles of Leffe and Asahi. Will do an IPA order from North Brew Co, we have a couple of bottles of Paul Rene MCC, the missus is in charge of the wine (from SA so she will be picking some decent wine from there). Going to get some umeshu negronis from Bao. I want to find the individual ingredients to make them myself.

Lastly some zero percent Guiness to drink in the morning

Will be working the days between Christmas and NYE, and will have to drive to my parents’ on Christmas Eve, and her’s on Christmas Day, so can’t do much. Will buy some nice peaty whiskey from the tax free on my way back from Sweden this weekend for sure. At least I can get plastered on the evening of Christmas Day.

I only really drink white wine on special occasions and will always buy myself a couple of really good quality bottles of white just before Xmas. Gin of choice is Jawbox at the min, a local one and it’s lovely. Love the pornstar martinis made fresh too. A good supply of yayo for an evening or two also doesn’t hurt! Looking forward to an extended break over Xmas.

I guess, guys, what I’m saying is, whatever you choose to do at Christmas, please in God’s name do it responsibly.

To be clear here, my bronson is for a few evenings during the 12 days of Xmas. I’m not dishing up huge slugs in the kitchen at 4pm on Xmas day when the whole family are sitting at the table waiting on their prawn cocktails!
