      LT42 It’s the most grueling surface IMHO.

        Got a feeling Ruud could win the French Open this year…. Definitely the best clay court player in the semis.

                alistair He was the runner up last year so he’s pretty clued up.

                    I was at a concert so didn’t watch but my point is that Ruud hasn’t beaten Djokovic or Alcaraz on tour yet despite several attempts and lost two slam finals when the going got tough last year. I may be wrong but I don’t see that changing here. That said, he’s a fine player, quick and agile round the court with a heavy forehand

                      alistair seems to remember Lendl being in Ruud’s situation a few times… he didn’t turn out too bad. Ruud v Alcatraz final woukd be excellent, but you can never tell in tennis? Maybe Zverev will win it?

                          Dan some statement that. I have never seen a more aggressive Djokovic. He was relentless and just wore him down. think he will beat either of Ruud or Zverev on that performance

                                        I used to love tennis - I think Murray and Federer sucked the life out of it for me. A day out at Wimbledon is good fun mind, so it’s lucky I’m on Court No 1 tomorrow

                                          Nowhere near as bad as that Sampras era. That fucking ruined it for me for years. Big serve bollox it was. I actually quite enjoy hating Murray.

                                            Sport is off the charts this week. Don’t know what the fuck to watch. Ashes at night, highlights of TDF in the morning followed by highlights of tennis. Day isn’t long enough.

                                            The Djok playing in third gear and Wawrinka and his dad bod still can’t make this a decent contest.

                                            Murray should seriously look at retirement. He can’t get past the first week of a Slam. Probably miss the money… being a Jock and all that.

                                              Dan He should play a full US hard court season culminating in Flushing Meadow and make a decision after that. He’s still in good nick and it’s arguably his best surface. He might alsomake it into the top 32 which would help him avoid the likes of Tsitsipas until the second week

                                                    Almost impossible to beat Djok even if you are getting 80% first serves in and exceeding 140mph. His 10 year plus unbeaten record on centre court is just as incredible as his 23 slams
