Yank GDP down to just over 2%, but getting a huge boost to the economy due to the arms packages, otherwise a full blown recession would have to be declared.
They’ll be paid back in full too. All the rebuilding contracts will go to the US and frozen Russian money in US banks will be used to fund some of it. A huge profit making exercise. Or are they protecting FREEDOM and DEMOCRACY.

The top 5 military contractor companies have hit record stocks and that’s inflated the GDP numbers. Its like artificially protecting from a recession by selectively funding certain segments of the industrial base.

Fact check: the first 6 months of supplies were from old stocks but they weren’t free. New AmericN weaponry is currently being “battle tested” in the field right now and those numbers you gave are related to the latest weaponry.

The US is in a shallow recession, propped up by funding the war in Ukraine and your condescending response won’t change that. Unless you have figures S&P Global and OECD don’t have? Or the stock figures for the top 5 arms manufacturers widely available online are false?

LT42 the data is published (it’s official Us data) on the websites of the Federal Reserve and Bureau of Economic Analysis… the OECD and S&P Global use data from these institutions .. btw year on year growth was down to 0.9% in q4… but the point I’m making to you is that it’s not being propped up in a big way by weapons manufacturing… hope that helps you

Its being propped up by the arms deals being sent to Ukraine, which in turn, are helping inflate the numbers so that Biden doesn’t have to declare a full blown recession. Nuance is lost on you.

Btw the US has given Ukraine around 50bn USD of aid since the war began… that’s 0.2% of gdp, a tiny fraction of the US economy… no way does that amount of spending keep the Us economy out of recession…

Haha, they pledged nearly 120B in 2022 alone and its close to 80B so far this year. 50B is the net worth of the military equipment sent from old stock, long before they started sending HIMARs, for example. Stop reading the internet.
