I was given his recent (2020) book ‘Humankind’ as a “gift” and painfully slogged my way through reading it out of a vague sense of duty plus mild curiosity. It’s close to being the worst book I’ve read in my entire life. Fucking terrible. Mistakes, contradictions and stupidity from start to finish.
Its overarching theme is that humans are by nature “good” and “kind”, that good always wins out, and that we should all view the world more positively.
Yet here he is in that twitter thread panicking that we’re on the verge of nuking each other to smithereens.
The guy’s a complete mess and absolute proof that a person can be educated and somehow intellectual while still being a complete and utter moron and a pathetic loser/looser.
