It’s never really dawned on me as I used vinyl mode early on and haven’t thought about it since, but the default on the XDJ 1000mk2 was vinyl mode off. With it off, and pausing it creates a tiny loop and is stupidly annoying - I read that it helps with queuing, but don’t see how. What does everyone else do and can someone explain in idiot terms why there’s that tiny loop when you have vinyl mode off?

Along_the_Wire I’ve never encountered that and I never use the vinyl mode.

Along_the_Wire I’ve never done that either (cue-button or play-button) so I guess that’s why I’ve never encountered it. Will try at home if my XDJ700s do the same. 😀

Homegrove when it’s playing and I hit cue, it snaps to the cue point and pauses rather than pauses the track in CDJ mode - am I doing something wrong?

Along_the_Wire nope, I use the play-button when pausing in the middle of the track, which I do very rarely.

Along_the_Wire ah yes, now I understand what you mean. Yes. You can set up a new cue point with it. That’s the function. Just nudge the platter slightly and when it’s where you want it to press cue.

Need to chop 30 seconds off a mix, have a decent idea where I can lose.

Any advice on cheap to download sw that doesn’t have a massive learning curve? Have about 24 hours to sort!!

Another vote for Audacity. I used to edit tracks if I didn’t like certain bits. It’s fairly easy once you know how to use it.

Mad_Cyril Looks like you’ve got it sorted out, but if you need a simple edit like this again, let me know and I’ll help. It’s super easy to do in ableton.

I use audacity too. Edit mixes and tracks in it.
If you can find an old copy of Nero wav editor that’s a piece of piss too with reasonable results.

Have found a massive error so need to mend. Full track needs replacing.

Assuming I could re-record the 3 track sequence, with the offending/ replaced track being the middle of the three, and replace rather than the whole 2 hours?

Obvs need to be the same tempo at the slicing point?

Stupid question, editing is all voodoo to me, but sounds like it’s possible
