  • Mix Club - The Remedial Class

Mad_Cyril See loads of comments about people listening to, editing tracks, adding cue points etc. whilst prepping mixes and cant get my head around how long it must take.

To do this id have to fire up the laptop and spend hours trawling through tunes. Am I being stupid or is this as time consuming as it sounds ?

With a bit of organisation and planning it surely isn’t difficult to get through loads of music per week. Pre-COVID, I must have consumed two hours of music (of all genres) per day getting to and from work, and doing an evening walk for exercise or being on the subway or in a taxi to the pub (I never speak to taxi drivers, they are always total cunts in any country). Add in the odd time at home when I’m doing some work or fannying about on here with music in the background.

With careful planning, anyone could probably get through 14-16 hours of new music a week just going about their normal week?

That’s a shitter mate. Happy 50th all the same

    Happy Birthday, Grant 🍻

It’s more finding tunes that mix together well, and that takes experimentation, not just listening back to tracks. Think of all your fave prog transitions, they aren’t happy accidents.

Fair enough, you dj I don’t.

But my starting point would be sifting the new releases to look for any new MUSCULAR PROG BANGERS.

Sounds like a boss plan, sure it can be resurrected when we’re out of this shite.

Hope you had a great Birthday and the practice went well.

Will miss you when you graduate from remedial class ✊

Anyine recommend a good wav to mp3 converter.

Had a look earlier and found loads online, where you upload and convert.

Would prefer sw on my mac to do it

Whilst we are on such a subject… other than mp3s, which other formats allow you to add artwork? I know I have asked this before. Sorry.

Mad_Cyril i bought wavepad which is fine for a bit of rudimentary editing and conversion.

Amps …AIFF, hence why they are preferable to WAV’s for me
