Nah, not really. Suburbs of London are just as minging, but you pay more to live there.
For example, Queens Park, supposed to be a decent part of London for a long time (it was ‘up and coming’ a decade ago, now it should have ‘arrived’), absolute fucking dump if you ask me, terraced houses all converted to shitty flats with garbage piling up in overgrown front gardens.
I love a weekend in London but to live there would be depressing as fuck. You only need a solid middle class wage (accountant, chartered surveyor or something) to live very well in a nice suburb up north.
