Along_the_Wire his point was that he wishes up and coming artists didn’t have to do irrelevant ‘entertaining’ posts to keep inside peoples algorithmic circle - if people don’t interact with us 2 or 3 times then Facebook makes the decision for you that you will no longer see that person as much (or at all)
It’s a fight to stay in peoples sight for when posts that matter are posted - and also a fight to gain followers.
I think he’s right, it shouldn’t be like that. But he’s in the music game and had to do it to gain followers (and keep those following him, actually seeing him). It’s mad. I’ve spent the last few years trying to start to understand what works on Facebook / insta and stopping and thinking about it after his post yesterday, I realised it’s like more than half the job if you are self managing social media.
He knows the shit that has to be done is dumb because just posting music basically gets hidden no matter how good you are.
