Look, anything is possible. The Washington CUNTmangers managed to beat the greatest football team ever assembled ffs!. Still, I don’t see how DeSantis can hope to beat Trump in a primary. The views of the Republican voting base are Trump’s. Voter fraud, deep state, rigged polls ex ex are all directly, and I would argue inseparably, connected to Don. I don’t think Ron can just step into that Ava Unit 01 suit and expect it to function properly.
Also, idk if Fox has the juice or appetite to turn opinion on him. They absolutely want him to run/win (as do all networks) because he makes them BANK. Rupert is out to lunch, and his kids just want plausible deniability. I am sure they will lend a hand to Ron IF he is foolish enough to run, but until proven otherwise I agree with the comparison that DeSantis is the Liz Warren of the Rs, ie nothing can make him as appealing as they think he should be.
Right now, I don’t see how anyone beats Joe. My take away from this past cycle is that all of the swing voters - suburban moms, and Independents - just want normalcy. The 40 year project that was Dobbs has come at a serious cost. Add in the fact that people under the age of universally hate the Republican party, and I don’t see how they can hope to win in 2024, outside of the standard voter apathy and continued suppression tactics.
