Early Morales….One of the early NYC djs to come to London (during acid house)….Ironically he says his Red Zone sound was influenced by UK…

This is still a particularly good production. A case of the remix being much bigger than the original

Amps saw him at Basics in Leeds in 95. Came on after Ralph Lawson and tore the place apart

Amps

Carl Craig comes to mind. Brilliant producer when he was at his best. Terrible, terrible DJ. I suppose Sync has fixed many of these issues.

Sounds like something that would’ve got on cd1 of Renaissance 2

I always remember Needin U coming out around the same time as a certain type of disco biscuit bearing the name of an oriental automobile manufacturer.

absolute scones.

That Pet Shop Boys remix is something else, Alistair.

Remember this from back in the day

unlike his really good new red zone stuff he can still remix a big vocal tune

For sure, his remix of Dreamlover is still one of the best

This has been done to death. Nubreed was the DJ’s that were really coming through in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. Most of them Nubreed DJ’s had been around for ages before their Nubreed releases. It is actually in the sleeve notes to Anthony Pappa’s release.

dunno where these reports are coming from that hes crap on the decks, hes absolutely brilliant - however horses for courses innit

my Def Mix folder inflates to the tune of about 15gb, i could be here all day reeling them off

nicksneddon dunno where these reports are coming from that hes crap on the decks, hes absolutely brilliant - however horses for courses innit

Probably musical preference rather than an accurate comment on his ability.

Personally think he’s boss, was great on the 1st Hacienda alldayer stream.

Very late on this one - heard it on a Luke Unabomber Worldwide show - amazing. Early 90’s I think?

An absolute beauty that BNH remix. I used to hammer their debut album too when I was at Leeds Uni.

This is a stone cold classic too

          Alias-The-Jester

I get that. I just think we have Sander Kleinenberg, Steve Lawler, and then the dude who was making tracks along side possibly the biggest house producer and remixer on the planet at the time.

Masters At Work and Hector Romero played one of his tracks when I was in Ibiza last, I was told it was his new remix of Dreamlover. Tried for 2 years hunting it down, only found out what it was the other week - it’s one of his tracks with the vocal chopped over the top, must have been an exclusive edit he had handed out or summat. Still a great track though

nicksneddon digweed played a weird version of dreamlover a couple of bunker sessions ago that broke into the vocal sample right near the end

            What about Jon Pleased Wimmin.

Stupid cunt of a name that is. Much prefer Jon The Dentist.

LOVELY STUFF. He played that a few weeks ago on his live stream

we need some more house mixes chaps.

Reckon it’ll be a year before I can produce something that doesn’t cause lasting damage to people’s ears though!

I did a house retrospective similar to my Renaissance one if you haven’t heard that mate

Dubman i’ll send you a house mix i done a few years back if you want

              Please mate, would be good.

That’s a great track that. Can’t leave this thread without this classic

So is this from back in the day

Quality remix that. His remix of U2 Discotheque is also good.
