Out of curiosity: I’m pro-immigration too (we have an aging population and we need young, low-skilled labour to pick our fruit and veg, clean the bogs, enrich our culture etc etc) but I do think there probably should be at some sort of limits or controls on the number of immigrants arriving.

Do you think there should be limits and controls on the numbers, or should it just be a case of “however many want to come is fine, whether that’s four hundred or four million” ?

C_J I’m pro legal immigration too, but social cohesion and integration is key. There is a consensus that the numbers are currently too high when you think of chronic housing shortages, NHS waiting lists etc but that’s mainly the fault of the Tories who consistently broke manifesto promises on numbers, removed bursaries to train British nurses, healthcare workers etc and perpetuated the Brexit control myth. We also quite rightly did our bit for Hong Kong and Ukrainians. They have allowed Farage to control the agenda.

I just kind of feel like there’s not all that much anyone can do to stop migration, really. If you clamp down on the number of visas you’ll just get more through the illegal route.

I think we just need to accept that we’re always going to have high inward migration unless we spend billions a year on policing every inch of coastline or stop handing out free houses and health care and cash benefits.

How anyone can’t spot he’s a con man is beyond me. Divisive cone man, but con man all the same. On the one hand he’s slowly started to split the Tory vote, a not inconsequential thing, but on the other hand he has empowered untold knuckle draggers and little Englanders. Most of my ire at the moment is at the press, the cunts. If it wasn’t for them he wouldn’t have a platform, same with Trump. We are were we are because of the media. If they’d told him and his ilk to fuck off, as they had been since the invention of TV, we’d still be in Europe.
