Jules72 Foden has done alright but not really pulled up trees in his appearances though.

As long as Rashford starts ahead of Sterling, I don’t mind Saka starting on the other flank.

Also, Mount needs to stay on the bench.

Foden can ideally be first sub on if we need to change things somehow.

How confident are we that England are going through tonight then? I haven’t seen much of Senegal but obviously they are a seasoned tournament team missing their biggest player.

I guess the most likely outcome is a cagey affair with England spending 90% of the match knocking it back and forth between Stones & McGuire and then looking to pick them off from corners and free kicks.

If England manage to rock up and blow them away 3 or 4 nil you’d have to say they are a nailed on favourite to win along with Spain, Brazil and France.

C_J Senegal have not been impressive. England will have to screw up hugely to get knocked out by them.

Sticking Walker at right-back to deal with the pace of Sarr, and England shouldn’t have many other problems unless of their own making.

Even if we win comfortably I wouldn’t read much in to it - France will be a completely different kettle of fish.

Not to be a pedantic ‘wordcel’ CJ, but I think only one team can be ‘nailed on’ given it means ‘a certainty’.

I think that France haven’t even been tested yet, who knows, we could beat them.

But a run of facing France, Spain or Portugal, then Brazil in the final will be too much. We’ll fall somewhere. No easy games now, if we get past Senegal.
