The chances were there and they just didn’t finish today. 57% possession, shots on target were 8-5, corners 5-2. Unless you’re going to give Southgate VAR privileges, I’m not sure what else he can do (outside of leaving Saka on the field, that I don’t understand).

Wveryone was laughing at Rabiot in the summer, and Touchamendi can’t even get a game at Real. That midfield should have been overun by England, but he picked Jordan fucking Henderson yet again…

I know he missed the second penalty today, but Kane will be very difficult to replace if he keeps on losing some pace and effectiveness over the next couple of years.

Without any other truly world class forwards immediately coming through, it’ll be a fair few years again before we can mount as strong a challenge as the last couple of tournaments I reckon.
