Got some shure in ear noise cancelling jobbies and in the plane they were ace. Took all the noise of the engine and a crying kid out of the equation.
I haven’t come across any anti social behaviour but there’s plenty of that in Oz anyway.

Yes, I paid about 300 quid just to hire a car to drive to Heathrow with all my cases. Kia Sportage. Living the dream.
We were supposed to get a Sportage but they’d run out and they had to upgrade us to this, much to their chargrin and mine. And if anyone knows what I think of jeeps as said previously on this board you’d know that I dont see it as an upgrade. So it’s a 4×4 sport auto that’s only been rented out twice and has full tech and leather but the thing is so plasticy and flimsy and horrible to drive it’s not even in the same ball park as a Sportage, upgrade or not. We were supposed to get a manual too and this gearbox is disgusting and revs too high in every gear. Absolute gash. I don’t even know what it is.

alistair depends on the type of train. Edinburgh to London on the new Hitachi trains is relaxing, better than flying actually. Regional services are a waste of money though.
mono-stereo I dare say the extra leg room and reclinable seats are better value on long journeys on a new Hitatchi train. My own experience has been poor though.
