Yeh was no shock really. Basically boils down to 47% of Aussies are racist. I didn’t really feel like I should have been voting. Not for an expat Brit to decide their fate. I thought it should have been a vote just for the indigenous but obviously that isn’t a referendum.
It’s complicated, a large majority of indigenous didn’t want it and were happy that they already had a voice via their elected mp. I personally voted yes because it’s of no harm at all to me to give them a say. Pauline Hanson types won over.

It’s a much less racist place now than it was 20 years ago. Same as Ameeerica it’s not the cities it’s the backwaters. Full of fucking redneck backwards cunts and there’s a lot of them. I haven’t been privy to full blown racism in daily life for a long, long time now thankfully. 20 years ago it was a regular occurrence at work and out and about. A generation of shit houses died and the woke generation have called out blatant abuse and it’s been for the better.
