  • Truss (general uk sucks thread)

I’m starting to hate him more than Piers Morgan. He just seems well out of his depth.

I’d take a geography teacher over a posh whopper every day of the week.

Amps I just meant I can understand the “I hate both of these candidates but I suppose I better vote for someone” voters.

bosstrabs But what I can’t understand is that Johnson actually has supporters.

thats the same thing with Don. The right has allowed for the dregs to have sway in the parties for too long, they’ve bred, and have now amassed control. I don’t know if there is a coalition for classic conservative values (what ever the fuck that means) anymore. There are clearly enough people who just want a total boob who owns the libs.

bosstrabs Yeah, the bloke who was saying ‘ill get it done’ rather than the bloke who was going ‘erm… erm…’ etc.

Amps Also plenty of people around here (even though Chester stayed Labour) who you know voted Boris because they thought “this Corbyn is going to hammer my finances”. The ’Boris is awful but when it comes down to it I’m totally self-interested’ vote.

Absolutely. I know a couple of friends down south who have said word for word ’I’ll never vote for anyone who makes it harder for me’. No empathy at all with anyone else in the country.

That’s generally how most people vote, Amps

The man is utterly devoid of any integrity.

He has spent his life screwing people over, and will do the same to the country. Depressingly, this was well known when voted in.

bosstrabs People voted for the cunt because he promised to get Brexit done. Corbyn being a total fucking clown didn’t help either, but ultimately the swings from red to blue in the north were to GET US OUT

The handling of Coronavirus has been an absolute disgrace.

Amps I can actually see the merit of doing this in terms of UK brand promotion, it’s obviously just bad timing and the journalists have jumped all over it like a tramp on chips.

            • Amps replied to this.

UK Brand Promotion?? Lol. I’ve heard it all now.

Boris spicing up the colour of his plane reeks of advice he got from Trump.

Hursty I would say as far as UK promotion, it’s a drop of piss in the ocean, and thats coming from a marketing background, the returns from it will be tiny. But yeah, in terms of UK budget, it is also tiny, so why not do it… his timing and insight are just non existent.

LT42 Lol probably, Air Force 1 is quite a status symbol for the States, although they have at least 2 so difficult to work out which one the VIPs are on.

Air Force 2 is Pence’s bus as far as I know

LT42 Boris is a total clown and this smacks of an attempt to divert focus from something other that doesn’t reflect well on the government (take your pick).

However, most countries do it (uniform national branding) so I don’t see why the UK should be averse to it.

In fact, you already saw these posters all over Beijing last year (the wanky term ‘Britain is GREAT!’

Something they’ve not mentioned though is the increased costs in fuel of an all-over red paint or vinyl job. Apparently this makes the plane heavier and considerably less fuel efficient.

Which is why airlines have traditionally gone for a livery with half a paint job and the rest left unpainted.

Where’s Ahad Adump when you need him?
