Lol, I picked 2 from my own allotment this morning, they are fantastic along with every other green vegetable.

The Turks make great use of them, I normally wouldn’t be a fan, then I had Patlaçan and many other dishes and was converted. Other than potatoes and carrots (and Broccoli) there’s a lot of veg that get needlessly passed over back home.

LT42 It’s incredible what a decent culinary tradition (middle eastern, East Asian etc) can do with vegetables you thought were shit. Courgettes and aubergines being examples of ’utterly shit veg I wouldn’t ever bother with’ being elevated to ‘one of my favourite dishes’.

bosstrabs I used to hate those vegetables and avoided them - gave me bad acid indigestion and tasted horrible. Literally, on Tuesday night I was out and decided to try them - to my amazement, I really liked them. Nexium has sorted the acid out.

Hold tight for my next vegetable-based instalment.

I have no issues with an aubergine, lovely in a moussaka. If we replace the TT members with vegetables (you might notice some replacements quicker than others), is edward the courgette, based solely on the shape of the vegetable of course?
