perhaps not eliminated in the strict sense, but certainly disrupted to the point of near-irreverence.

Post 2001, Al Qaeda gradually decentralised forming groups (AQAP, AQIM, AQIS etc) in key regions and had further setbacks after Ayman al Zawahiri was taken out last year. They remain but their profile has changed and will be seeking opportunities to regroup.

Similarly, ISIS were largely defeated by around 2007 (following “the surge”) and retreated to the desert but re-emerged in 2011 with the Syrian conflict. After their clobbering in 2018, they reverted back to being an insurgency similar to the AQI days, but their “motto” is “Endure and Remain”, so no doubt they will be looking for the right time to make a comeback.

Right, well that’s me on the watchlist now.

zackster Yay freedom!

So is it a big deal that Palestinian citizens are apparently kept within the borders of their territory or not? You’re contradicting yourself here.

Also, if you think that they have a good way of life then how about you try and move there? I’m sure they’d welcome an American Jew with open arms - they’d probably throw a rooftop party for you.

hugopal Hugo, bubbale, be a mench and listen to me… for the 50th time, it is NOT Palestinians keeping Palestinians in place! Israel is the one posting snipers and robot machine gun towers outside of the chainlink fences or along the decrepit roads that lead to the multitude of checkpoints that require vias that take years to come and are ofter denied or only granted for sexual favors. It is not Palestinians controlling a poisonous water supplying electricity for 8 hours a day. I suggest you watch Abby Martin’s Gaza Fight’s For Freedom to actually see what life was actually like in Gaza before the mass genocide began. The entire thing is now free on YouTube.

zackster it is NOT Palestinians keeping Palestinians in place! Israel is the one

Except it is them as well - I literally just posted the article from the Guardian about it.

Women would not be free to leave Gaza even if Israel didn’t exist because of their own enacted laws.

Egypt also maintains a highly restricted border with Gaza.

The men are oppressive and a neighboring country from which they have never claimed citizenship has a well defended boarder… thats what you got?

zackster so you are now concluding that it’s not a big deal that Palestinians are kept within their borders - contrary to your earlier posts. Gotcha.

Mad_Cyril Well said. Just becomes like Twitter but worse. You just end up falling out with people you’d otherwise get on with and nothing will change anyway. Anyway pub beckons and politics is off the menu

          Lollers.

@zackster wanted more “humanization” of Palestinian people, here’s a couple of videos. It’s great to see such gleeful faces:

Oh man. There is absolutely no way I could find video evidence 180 degrees opposite of this. Check mate if I’ve ever seen it. ♟️
