Does anyone on here still do either? Walking through London yesterday I was struck by how many adults were vaping. Obviously teenagers and 20s will do such things, but heavy hitting business types in their 50s and 60s were too around the square mile. Proper Fisher Price look to it imo.

I vape after giving up smokes nearly 10 years ago. I use a pretty standard pen style vape with Tobacco flavour liquid. I’ve no interest in vaping beyond just give me the fucking nicotine. Some of the flavours are hideous. Walking through the streets smells like someone vomited a rainbow.
As for the mods and tanks and all that shit. Just fuck off. Cunts walking around with an immersion heater in their hands. Wankers.

Is the plan to knock it all on the head once you reach puberty SM? Bit of a pointless escapade all round imo

Millsy I take it you were never a smoker or just had the odd social few?

For me It’s either vape or go back on the smokes. Vaping is “healthier” and far less expensive.

SM001 can you not just quit mate? I was on 20 a day back in my 20s and just quit one day as it’s a totally pointless exercise. Vaping looks even more pointless and surely the point is to wean off tabs before sacking the whole thing off entirely?

I was on the Juul for about three years after almost two decades of smoking about half a pack a day. Made quitting cigs extremely easy. But the combination of Juul while I was stoned on the ganj, felt really filthy. Felt like I was adding a chemical element to something I truly feel has natural benefits. Eventually quit the Juul.

Now it’s a j a day, and once in a while I’ll have a cig on social occasions. Need to watch that Juul documentary on Netflix. And now that I can be all judgy, 40+ year olds with vapes is a really juvenile look, made even worse with that sickly sweet bubble gum smell that follows.

Well thats the thing. It’s easy for some and very difficult for others to quit. It depends on the person. I tried quitting a few times but found it extremely hard.

I think quitting is more about context than willpower. I have little willpower but I managed to stop because my wife effectively owns me now.

Joking apart, it was a lot easier to stop when I wasn’t constantly hanging around smokers going to the pub with them and living on my own.

I’d like to get back into it one day.

Gave up the fags years ago.

            And as for the cigarettes…

            OLB’s IN THE HOUSE!

SM001 100% this. 10 years since I switched from fags to vaping. Not interested in flavours and all that shit. Genuinely don’t give a shit what it looks like. It’s feeding a nicotine addiction, and doing it (I hope) somewhat less catastrophically than smoking cigarettes.

I’ve got into snus - it’s not very long before you got from the basic stuff to the rocket fuel, but I can really easily take or leave it - nice now and again

Along_the_Wire can’t imagine it’s good for you, but it’s just a bit of fun and easy to take or leave

Tobacco-free nicotine pouches will be a less carcinogenic alternative to snus, in case you do have some concerns.

Millsy Obviously teenagers and 20s will do such things

I found smoking nasty even as a teenager and in my 20s. I tried a few times, but just don’t know how people can get in to it; it just feels like polluting your body and makes things stink.

I did get on alright with snus though - as per Grant’s comment above it was good for an occasional fun nicotine buzz. But if I was to do something like that again in future it would also probably be the less toxic, tobacco-less nicotine pouches.

hugopal I have the tabacco-free ones - use Velo Max. I’m not too worried, booze will kill be first I’m sure

Never been a heavy smoker but always enjoyed a few with a drink. Knocked them on the head for good recently when a family member was diagnosed with lung cancer.

Also packed in my weed vaporizer, miss that more than the tabs.

Apparently there are people now vaping nicotine free vapes.

Watching grown adults clutchign their pacifiers is weird.

Loads of people vaping inside the club last sunday. Have to say that was a bit weird.

The sight of smokers outside hospitals, especially staff, is a sad sight.

then there’s probably not a huge amount to worry about then anyway

benson once worked in Royal Surrey in my 20s during Uni break. Smoked at the time. Smoking room in the bowels of the hospital, yellow nicotine walls. One day I saw a bloke smoking a tab through his tracheostomy hole. Grim.
