I actually watched this entire shit show yesterday. I know politics are a general mess everywhere, but the americans just seem to be fucked in a unique way. Trump was predictably incapable of answering any questions and even approaching the truth, Biden is clearly suffering from dementia, and I honestly don’t know what the moderators were doing, they were incompetent.

I’m holding on to some hope that this was the demorcrats’ plan to let Biden fail miserably in front of the world so they can replace him. Forcing the world to deal with another four years of Trump is unfathomable. A hostile AI takeover might be a better alternative.

Trying to engage on any talk with Trump and frame it as a debate is not a good idea for anyone. No idea what Biden was hoping for as the best outcome.

Anyway, genuinely worried about what will happen if Trump gets in again.

Old-Dutch Yeah and most of those odds are based off some silly reality TV from last night. In reality Democrats have been flipping Republican seats alll over the country in runoffs since Biden got in 4 years ago. Independents are not going to vote for a rapist and convicted felon, no matter how bad Biden looks on TV and the independents are how elections are won. Biden has done a lot in 4 years to take their vote and people sharing bot-infused twitter soundbites of Biden slurring his speech won’t change that.

I’m not a Biden fan either but the last 4 years have been a breeze and the world needs that relative calm right now. Not the other option. People seem to have short memories of how Trump bowed out last time, most Yank voters won’t.

LT42 The flaw in your reasoning is thinking people vote based on policy or tangible results thereof. It’s a mistake to discount how dumb and ill informed the average voter is. Look at how many democrats stayed home in 2016 because they refused to vote for Hillary after Bernie got the shaft from the DNC. That could easily happen again as Biden is almost as unelectable as she was.
