      Unfortunately that’s not the case. Considering the musicians playing in those records, it’s almost a derogatory term! Linda Ronstadt sings in that Ned Doheny record, for fu’s sake.

            Pickles MOS helped to kill it, when Mark Doyle, the DJ behind the comps, left. MOS turned them into the commercial shit we all know, entire sections at Virgin and HMV and you couldn’t tell Hed Kandi from the imitators.
