A swan dive followed by a right big old fucking bounce back like we had over the last 16 months is fine, the real problem is when you get a protracted “lost decade” of zero growth - or worse.
Obviously the big fear “stalking the markets” is “the spectre of inflation”, or more accurately, what rising interest rates will do to stock valuations once the analysts type them into their excel models. I’ve been nervous about inflation for years now and (let’s be honest here) so far I have been proven wrong. Lots of smart people citing the persistence of structural factors suppressing inflation (globalisation, automation, aging population … CJ on the mic, spitting economic rhymes for the Jaded Clubbers nation /@bosstrabs …. ahem).
