Brazil is an amazing country full of amazing people and some of the fittest treacles ever, but really fucking dangerous. My mate’s sister lived there for years and I went there a few times. She got car jacked and kidnapped once and also held up twice. Just some country town as well. Moody.

My work mate has a flat out there and carries two wallets as it’s not unusual to be mugged so he’s used to handing over wallets.

BlainSA I came into this thread to say I’d probably swerve South Africa and Brazil for any sort of holiday (especially with the family). Can’t say India is any better in terms of safety, but at least we don’t have guns.
Missus’ team deciding between Cape Town and Dublin for an offsite, will be joining her for Dublin if that happens.
rhouses South Africa is a lovely country, and you would be missing out big time if you didn’t go to Cape Town. Of course there are issues there, and it’s not as safe as other places, but be smart and you should be fine. I’ve been to Cape Town a few times and love it, would happily move there if I could

A dude in her team went for work and got mugged with his south african colleague in broad daylight. More than actually getting mugged, he was more shocked by how nonchalant everyone around him was, including his colleague. lol.
