Along_the_Wire Really sad and disappointing if that’s the case. Was hoping he and Mercedes would come back fighting next year. Hope it’s more a case of bitter disappointment right now, but he gets the fuck over it sharpish.
Pleased they dropped the appeal against the FIA though. Despite the farcical end to the race on Sunday, Verstappen has driven incredibly well all season, and I’m not averse to a manufacturer other than Mercedes taking the driver’s championship.
Hopefully, the new regs next season will lead to a more generally competitive season, with more than just two constructors competing at the front of the grid…
