I really like Sam Curran, could do with more all-rounders. Obviously Stokes, but he’s lost his edge I think. English Cricket is a shambles.

I despise all Australian cricketers, of the current lot, Smith is by far the biggest cunt and that really is saying something.

Only all rounder we could possibly have is a spinner-Dont need any more trundlers. Id say Stokes is underdone + can see him being ground into the dust by Root + co. just like Archer.

All due respect, but I keep asking my Indian mate living in London why England’s cricket team is so white. There’s definitely a problem there. You’ve got a fairly large Indian/Pakistani/Caribbean population. Need some Patels and Yusufs doing some spin bowling and opening batting for you guys imo. He might not be trail blazing at the moment, but it makes me happy to see a brownie in Haseeb playing for England.

Asian ethnicities represent around 7% of the UK population. Proportionally, that means having 1 member of the team with an Asian heritage is over representative. As recently as this Summer, we had both Hameed and Ali playing for England - close to 20% of the team.

Why aren’t there more white people playing in the India team? Racist IMO.

I didn’t mean to ruffle any feathers, just found it a bit peculiar because of how many 2nd gen 3rd gen folks in England are from the subcontinent. But yeah, I guess that 7% is answer enough.

Tbf we barely have any Muslim players playing for India.

rhouses Think there’s more to it than just appetite for the game. He had some shoulder issues a few years back I think, and said at the time that his shoulder may never be up to the amount of bowling he’d have to do in the red ball game. Crying shame, as I think with the right coaching he could be a devastating test bowler…

100% true, and I wouldn’t try and pretend that didn’t factor into Rashid’s decision! I saw an interview where he pointed out that if he were to play test cricket, a) it wouldn’t guarantee he could do so for an extended period of time, and b) it would likely be at the cost of his white ball career, as definitely wouldn’t be able to do both.

Also 100% true. England haven’t had a decent (let alone World Class…) test spinner since Swann retired going on 10 years ago.
