Dan Loopy in 3,2…..

I was at my cottage (‘summer cabin’) in Northern Ontario with the family… My son and I watched the Germany game and that’s the only game I’ve caught so far.

We use Starlink up there for broadband and as soon as the city dwellers all arrive at the lake for the weekend, it becomes more difficult to stream using my IPTV service because everyone is using the same bandwidth. I tried to watch the Spain game but it was glitching like a motherfucker, so I gave up.

I’m back in the city so expect my play-by-play analysis starting Monday.

    Looking forward to it brother.

Will definitely be better than the bilge served up by the British meedya

SM001 That’s because Hugo’s mere presence here is sapping the life and motivation out of them.

ScottBailey He also looked like he’d just played in the German league for the last 12 months

        What does this mean SB?

I don’t think it matters much if Kane barely touches the ball if it means he takes players with him and creates space for others. His reputation scares defenders and his record suggests he will score soon enough.

Wasily it means he’s gotten used to a slow, low-intensity style of play, would be my interpretation.

The guy’s never had incredible pace and he’s been dropping deep for years but last night he looked unable to keep up with play; jogging around while the game passed him by.

He nearly scored and to be fair he normally only needs one chance - but they pay a high price tactically imo having no threat from pace up front. You need someone like Bowen or Watkins to go beyond him.

ScottBailey I’d like to see: -

          Pickford
          Walker Stones Shaw
          Rice Gallacher
          Saka Foden Bellingham Gordon
          Kane

Telling ya, this would stop Kane dropping back and going missing. It’d also stop the wide players coming inside and keep the width going forward, also stopping Walker getting forward (see miss). Does he not watch what Guardiola does with Foden?!

Even though Shitegate said all his players are available, Shaw is obviously not ready to kick a ball, so why is he even there? Guehi looked alright last night so could deputise Shaw in my formation.

This is coach Bailey signing off.

Slobodan Milosevic, Novak Djokovic, Marina Abramović…

Your boys took one hell of a beating!

Mad_Cyril Will definitely be better than the bilge served up by the British meedya

…..or 1 or 2 on here. Southgit missed a trick not hiring them for their input

My opinion hasn’t changed after last night - put Bellingham as 8, Foden / Palmer as 10, Gordon / Eze on the left, Saka / Bowen on the right. I know this will leave us more exposed defensively but if we score one more goal than them who gives a shit

Was fucking terrible to watch last night. To play like that with all that talent available is criminal.

Think I’ll be doing something less boring instead come Thursday.

Mad_Cyril I watched with a general disinterest that the game barely deserved. Shitegate is such an awful clueless cunt. Why does the FA continually fuck it up?

Shirley the glasses are all half full, gents? First game, 3 points, job done. Initial nerves settled.

Performances can only get better as the games go on…

                I miss Strudders’ tactics truck

-si- exactly, just get through the group stage then turn up the heat

                Strudders!

Don’t make’em like him any more!

Smallman1 he would know how to structure a 4-4-2 properly using Disney Paint, tactical nous and je ne sais quoi.

Getting 3 points from the first game is good enough, but that was a pretty underwhelming performance. I thought they defended well, one mistake is all it takes though and it looked like there just wasn’t much will to go forward. It’s a bit like the last euro started, so let’s see how the tactics change. It’d just be nice to see England get on the front foot and stay there for a change.
