You do know this is part of a long term drive to provide one single verification process and access to digital government services?
Has been through multiple governments in the guise of Verify, one login and now this. Each an evolution of the previous and driven by government departments, not political parties.
Turning access to public services into a political finger pointing exercise is pretty dumb.
Do you want a different password for every public service you access? Do you want to live in the world where your medical records can’t be shared across health authorities because their system systems and access points existing silos?
Some people need to fucking grow up and realised the world is changing. This isnt just ID cards, it’s an entirely different concept, only made similar for political convenience.
