VR46 5% of gdp for defense and Austerity. The left oppose digital ID even more than the right. His attacks on free speech have effected both sides of the spectrum, including far lefties like kneecap and palestine supporters.
Spending 5% of GDP on defence is authoritarianism? You’ll have to explain that one to me.
On digital ID, this is something that has been trotted out variously. In this particular iteration, Starmer announced it in response to a surge in popularity for a party that is truly authoritarian - knowing that it wasn’t really a viable option.
Protests. happen regularly, especially in London, and some of those have a contingent of people that are violent. Tackling violence and crime is not the mark of an authoritarian government. If they were truly authoritarian, the protest would not have happened at all.
Labour where involved in the surpreme court ruling on the two genders only which effects schools and no trans in female sports, im sure lgbt labour voters arent happy with him either. I agree with the ruling personally, but he has done plenty to actually keep the right happy than his own base, including inviting trump over and all his arse licking. Maybe some on here stiill have the blinkers on regards to him but base labour voters arent happy.
On the trans issue you mention. I can’t help but feel this is mentioned somewhat insincerely, Funky. You seem to be saying that the hallmark of an authoritarian government is one that supports and promotes justice in our legal system? An authoritarian government would seek to circumvent the courts entirely.
Have another go Funky.
