  • It's the forthcoming films and TV thread...innit.

Seen a good trailer? Heard about a new series? What you waiting for? Post it here.

Penguin trailer looks dece. Out 19th September. Very dark and no hint of a superhero in the trailer. Films that are just about the villain would get my vote.

They’re reviews of films and TV watched, Sir. This a thread on things that are yet to be released. Clue is in the title!

Slow Horses S4 is coming next month too

Yes, saw that was on its way. Have to say though, I ducked out after season 2 as season 3 was a bit tedious. Maybe a time for a revisit.

whatever I didn’t think so, the final shoot out in the bunker dragged a bit, ⅔ episodes but I binged all 3 after watching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. So was obvs in the mood for that kind of thing. Gonna rewatch 3 in the run up to 4

I saw Alien Romulus last night and thought it was decent tbh. Definitely third in the franchise, and plays homage to the first two films with a dash of Prometheus thrown in, however not quite the big cinematic gloss of the latter. I’m sure all you lot will rate it.

Dan 4 out of 5 is now the level of decent tbf? World’s gone mad.

Anyone dared saying “Cankles McJeggings” 3 times?

Dan quite a few films out I need to see to be fair, this is last, but at least it’s on the list.

whatever A ton. One of the most storyboarded games I’ve ever played. First season stuck to it pretty tightly.

whatever Like Vin said, one of the best story-based games ever made. Tough to build on that with a hand on the till.

Officially coming straight to Max in October of this year. I don’t have high hopes if it got shelved for two years, studio politics or not (Warner Brothers changed owners around that time), but the book is one of his best, and I like that the movie kept the 70s setting.

Homegrove the book is one of his best

                  Been thinking about re-visiting recently.

Not a massive fan of re-reading, re-watching stuff.

                  Apart from Lego Batman

Mad_Cyril one of the best reading experiences I ever had was when I first read it at 13 years old I remember coming to the point about 100 pages in when you suddenly realize it was about vampires. The Finnish first edition translation I was reading was designed like the first US editions so you didn’t know it. Later copies just put vampires on the cover. My current copy, an English language paperback sure does.

I’ve reread it many times since at always enjoyed it. Stephen King really perfected his small Maine-town bit already on his second published novel. On first read you want the plot to move on and not spend time with the people of the town, but once the killing starts it really pays off.

Millsy I quite liked that after a few disappointing reads of some of his others. Liked Mr Mercedes too, so reading those two trilogies connected to that.

Millsy I’m still trying to get through Billy Summers (not a euphemism)

                    Lol!

Millsy I liked it a lot. But the first half is very slow. And it was announced as a limited TV show awhile ago (no idea if it’s still happening) which would mean bloating it out even more. I think they should’ve gone as a movie with it, and it might’ve been great.

EDIT: nope back as a movie. But this too was from over a year ago, the strikes might have killed it.

Homegrove Has anyone ever heard a good story about studio execs? I get the feeling Kevin Smith’s Superman story was just the tip of the iceberg.

Amps that story about the guy who wanted it to have giant mechanical spiders? Then he put them in Wild Wild West, and it was a flop and that guy continued to work for a long time more. 😀

TV series in the early 80’s starring David Souls scared the shit out of me. All that tapping at the windows
