LT42 Your mistake is assuming any of this is purely political, there are conservative groups such as “The Boogaloo movement” that have long opposed state control of big business and have broader social and cultural concerns, therefore they wouldn’t take kindly to Elon Musk’s input so far. There are plenty of conservatives who are pro FORD 1500 etc and see EV cars as a move away from traditonal American values, as stupid as that sounds its the truth, lots of Americans don’t like electric vehicles.
