Just had a look on Ibiza Spotlight for Sep/Oct and it looks horrendous!

I knew Ibiza had slipped, but didn’t realise THAT badly.

Would be interested to see what the new Privilege looks like, but the parties there…… S to the ……..

Off tomorrow morning . Looking forward to some R&R . Only night that looks any kop whilst i’m there is the Akosha opening party on the Thu with Burridge and Baumel . Pacha have a soft launch night with some residents that will probably be better than the garbage offered by Guetta during the season . Pikes has some birds playing speed garage one night . S to the Werve on that bad boy.

Looking forward to meandering around Ibiza Town and the little bars in the old town .

Check out Sidreria Poma in Ibiza town for some Asturian style cider. Proper refreshing, and a great way to drink cider.

It was great! Was all a bit of a rush post Ibiza getting ready for Stage One, hence the late report.

Stayed just round from Ibiza Town at Talamanca Bay. Everything was just opening up, so went to a soft launch night with the residents at Pacha. Wasn’t packed and the music was OK. Was going to see Burridge at Akasha on the last night but got lagging at a lovely local restaurant with Mrs IS and stayed local. Did one night in San An eating at Mint / seeing Jason Bye at Mambo .

First time i’ve been since the early noughties and thought it was the nuts. Hired a car and went all over. Liked Portinatx, Santa Eulalia and Santa Gertrudis. Just the whole vibe of the place. Sure its mental in high season, but was pretty chilled when we were there.

Already thinking of going back later in Sept once the kids/Unis go back .

Big talk was UNVRS out there. Opening night tonight, so soon find out what they’ve done inside / if much different to KU/Privilege

IndustryStandard Portinatx is a great little spot, mate. Privilege gets a bad rap as it’s like an aircraft hanger, but the sound is brilliant.

I’m going back in August for Sasha & Digweed at Amnesia (I don’t think that they have played there together before), and doing either Carl Cox, or Eric Prydz at UNVRS, probably more for nostalgia reasons.

The first time that I went was for Sasha (Tyrant) in 1998. They had that graphic equaliser below the DJ booth. It looked cool at the time.

A few vids coming through of UNIVRS opening . Looks like they’ve done away with the swimming pool and just thurber the whole hanger into a massive hall , with VIP sections running along both sides . Very Venture Cap/ Business Techno.

IndustryStandard got a few mates who have worked on this. Some of it looks boss, but yeah, I’m a bit disappointed with the boring square room design.

I have to admit, in the videos that I have seen it looks very underwhelming. It looks like they have binned off the large window at the back that the sunrise used to come through and replaced it with a VDU, I very much doubt that the roof still opens, the floors have all been levelled, so it is not like you can explore it. I’m actually thinking about giving it a swerve.
