Jules72 wouldnât mind poaching Brightonâs scouting department
Utd have updated things over the last year or so, which should see some improvements. They got rid of their two previous head scouts in April 2022 for instance and have been building up a new data analytics team.
Also, one of Brightonâs best signings lately has been Caicedo, and Utd were the other club most strongly linked with signing him at the time. Supposedly Utd even held talks to sign him but were partly put off by him having multiple representatives - so it probably wasnât due to the scouts that they backed out.
While Brightonâs scouts have clearly done excellent work where they are, thereâd be different expectations at Utd (just look at what happened with Potter moving to Chelsea). Plus whenever Utd try and sign a player the quoted fee usually jumps compared to when others are interested.
