BlainSA nicksneddon Lol. Wanted him for ages. I remember watching Chelsea West Ham at the bridge about ⅘ years ago and seeing some real talent, then squinting my eyes to work out who it was only to realise he was the guy we let go. Same time Antonio was bossing it down the wing and making all kinds of trouble.
alistair Hursty He’s better than those two. Paulinha only joined Fulham a year ago and there wasn’t a clamour for his services then. Rice was head and shoulders the best player on the pitch yesterday and that’s not new either.
Jules72 hugopal not sure about that … one of the players who has dropped off big time is Casemiro - he has been sitting out a lot of games through suspension…. Think Martinez injury matters - he gives the side a lot of grit… and Garnacho always gave us a great option from the bench..and we are way too over-reliant for goals on Rashford… 4th place is still ours to lose but it does all look very rickety… luckily (for us) 3 of our 4 remaining games are at home where our form is still strong
Jules72 alistair problem is the English player premium… the 140-150m being talked about a while back was clearly ridiculous…100m more sensible but still very high compared to non-English peers
alistair Jules72 true but I believe there is only a year left on his contract so WH risk him walking out on a free. I do also wonder whether Liverpool’s proposed transfer budget is predicated on them being out of the champions league next season which may not necessarily be the case.

alistair gcw Just how many of those have you watched mate? I’ll defer to @nicksneddon on that. I thought he was also quality at the last WC and Euros. Nearly always top of the charts for intercepts and tackles and he’s added attacking qualities to his game.
nicksneddon alistair i watch him most weeks so know exactly what he does, and you are absolutely correct. This season he hasnt been able to make the driving runs through the midfiled hes been doing for the last couple of seasons, i put this down to how the team has been set up
gcw He isn’t worth £100m though, and I appreciate he doesn’t set his price tag. Is he a top 5 midfielder in the world? Not a chance. Obviously at that age he has years ahead of him to get to that elite level
