I agree that the purchase of Firpo has been a catastrophe. he has no ability to play in this league which is far too intense for his limited defensive capability. he can barely tackle, will dive in and will only work in a system where we dominate the ball and play forward - which we dont and cant. however the idiocy of his acquisition pales into insignificance alongside the grim, resolute refusal to buy any back up for him given his weak injury and disciplinary record, a recruitment policy which has made no sense in so many ways. so i’m glad he is now done and will never play again. to think that we are still relying on Forshaw, Harrison, Ayling and Bamford in preference to about £150M of wasted acquisitions says all anyone needs to know about Victor Orta. I dont think we will beat West Ham and even if we need to beat spurs to stay up we will find a way to fuck that up. Forever damned.
