alistair the issue with Salah this season is his complete lack of defending, and considering our defence is so shit, Salah has had to be benched. It’s unfortunate, but best for the team. If our defence was performing I would imagine Salah would be playing more, even though he hasn’t done well either this season.
I don’t particularly like his statement that he has earned his place in that team, no player should be playing because they earned it in the past, but because they have fought for their right to play now. He has come across as a bit selfish and entitled, which isn’t a nice look imo.
He is still a legend, so hope this can play out amicably somehow
