It’s been almost impossible to swerve the footy, much as I have tried. Too many mates and family into it. I’m still fuming about the Super League shit, and no doubt it will be back around again in a year or two, if not sooner.
Reckon we are really missing Wijnaldum. Couple of decent performances have papered over the cracks (not sure that is the right analogy for a long term issue), but when the bloke who was proper boss and never got injured leaves, and you replace him with two blokes who always get injured and a kid, you will reap what you sow.
Hoping it stays tight at the top for the rest of the season to keep it interesting. I’m intrigued to see how quickly Utd can be turned around.
Unfortunately I’ve managed to catch Savage on 5Live for the past couple of weekends, and, although he’s just a bell end playing devils advocate, I’m amazed at how many people can’t see the issue with starting Ronaldo. He may be their best goal scorer, but if they keep loosing 3-2 or even 8-7, or any scoreline, it makes no odds what his tally is. The modern game demands that everyone tracks back, you see it all the time with us, the front three picking the ball up on the edge of our own box. When the teak faced wonder is on the park, they are essentially a man down when they are going backwards. He’s a luxury player, best brought on when they’re a couple up against a bunch of no marks, play him against anyone of quality and they’ll be rubbing their hands.
