Think it’s a generational divide, the old boys love him because they remember watching him play (conveniently forget his interview), the young lot think he’s a bit of a weirdo of the telly.
Judging by the comments over the years on Liverpool forums, Souness is rightly regarded as one of the club’s top 5 players of all time. The managerial stint and The Sun article tainted his legacy somewhat, but to answer the question, Liverpool fans in general do like him
